Load-Bearing Clay Masonry – Now Available from Just 175 mm Wall Thickness!

In 2026, the approval for our clay brick was extended, opening up additional application possibilities. One significant development is the inclusion of clay thin-bed mortars from conluto and Levita, which are now listed alongside Claytec. Furthermore, the scope of structural applications has been expanded: Our clay brick can now be used in buildings up to 22 metres in height, including Building Class 5.

Significant improvements have also been achieved in fire protection. For a wall thickness of 17.5 cm, the use of our clay brick in load-bearing, fire-separating walls as well as fire walls has now been verified without plaster. A utilisation factor of up to αfi ≤ 0.70 is permitted. For a wall thickness of 24 cm, the existing fire resistance verification has also been significantly improved. Fire resistance has now been verified without plaster, whereas previously plaster was required on one side of the wall. At the same time, the permissible utilisation factor has been increased from αfi ≤ 0.58 to αfi ≤ 0.70.
